Basic Wooden Venetian Blinds - How to measure

• Decide the fixing position of the blinds, within the recess or outside the recess
  
  
• Always use a metal tape measure
  
  
• Take measurements in millimeters
  
  
• check for any obstructions in the fitting area e.g. window catches, electrical sockets, tiles, telephone sockets
  
  
• Specify width first and then drop
  
  
• Measure recess, width x drop in several places, always give the narrowest measurements (we deduct 10mm from the width)
  
  
• Measure the drop, from the top of the window frame down to the windowsill, in 3 places. Use the smallest measurement
  
  
• We will make the necessary adjustment for the brackets and so your blinds are just touching the windowsill
  
  
• if fixing outside recess we recommend an overall overlap of 75mm on the width and drop
